Uttar Pradesh Raises Government Employees’ Dearness Allowance To 63 Percent

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) of state government employees by three percentage points, raising it from 60 per cent to 63 per cent. The announcement was made as a Diwali gift by the Yogi Adityanath government.

The revised DA will be effective retrospectively from July 1, 2026, according to the announcement. Government employees and pensioners are expected to benefit from the decision.

The report estimates that around 2.8 million employees and pensioners will receive the benefit of the increase. It also states that the DA has been raised by a total of five percentage points during the current year.

The latest revision is intended to provide additional financial support to state government employees and pensioners amid rising living costs. Details regarding the payment of arrears and the schedule for disbursement have not been specified in the available report.
