The ED produced Khan before the special court at around 10:30 am. Following the hearing, the court ordered his judicial custody for 14 days. He was then taken directly from the court premises to Dasna Jail under security arrangements involving around 100 CRPF and police personnel, according to the report.
Khan appeared calm when he arrived at the court. When media representatives asked whether he wanted to say something, he reportedly replied, “What is left to say?”
The ED had arrested Khan on Saturday evening shortly after his release from Rampur Jail in a money-laundering case. He was taken by road to the agency’s headquarters in Delhi, where he was kept overnight.
During questioning, the ED reportedly asked him more than 50 questions concerning the alleged use of government funds in the construction of Jauhar University.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister said Khan was facing action over corruption allegations and not because of his religious identity. The case and the allegations remain subject to legal proceedings.
