ED Conducts Searches At Locations Linked To Former Punjab Minister

Chandigarh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting searches at several locations in Chandigarh and Punjab in connection with an investigation involving former Punjab Industries Minister Shyam Sunder Arora, his son Prateek Arora and real estate-linked groups.

According to reports, the search operation has been underway for several hours in Chandigarh’s Sector 9, an area known for its prominent residential properties. ED teams are also inspecting the homes of two real estate promoters in the sector.

The locations under investigation reportedly include properties linked to Shyam Sunder Arora, Prateek Arora, Marbella Group, Gulmohar Township Group and promoters associated with these entities. Premises linked to Sanjeev Juneja are also said to be part of the searches.

The operation is reportedly connected to allegations of corruption and possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income against the former minister. Investigators are also examining alleged irregularities in the allotment of plots by the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC), including subsequent changes in ownership.

The agency is suspected to be examining whether rules were allegedly violated during the allotment and transfer of these properties. ED teams are checking documents, property records and other possible evidence at the locations.

The search operation is ongoing. No official details about the findings or further action have been made public so far. The allegations remain under investigation.
