Ayodhya Celebrates Tenth Deepotsav With Three Million Lamps

Ayodhya: Ayodhya is celebrating its 10th Deepotsav, with around three million lamps being lit across 56 ghats along the banks of the Saryu River. Organisers are aiming to set a new record during this year’s celebrations.

The festival features a grand procession showcasing seven episodes from the Ramayana. The presentations depict important parts of the epic and form a major attraction of the event.

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several ministers are attending the celebrations. Their presence has added prominence to the annual event.

After the lamps are illuminated, a laser show is scheduled as part of the programme. The celebrations combine religious traditions, cultural presentations and large-scale lighting arrangements along the riverfront.

The lighting of millions of lamps across the 56 ghats is the central highlight of this year’s Deepotsav. The proposed record will be another milestone in Ayodhya’s annual festival, which marks the city’s association with the Ramayana and Lord Ram.
