Delhi AQI Hits 380, Schools Shift Younger Students To Hybrid Classes

New Delhi: Air pollution in Delhi has worsened, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) near India Gate reaching 380 on Saturday. In response to deteriorating air quality, GRAP Stage III restrictions have been implemented across Delhi-NCR.

Schools have been directed to conduct classes for students up to Class 5 in hybrid mode, allowing both online and offline learning. The measure comes as authorities respond to the rising pollution levels and concerns over children’s exposure to poor air quality.

Meanwhile, winter conditions have intensified in Madhya Pradesh, with temperatures dropping across several cities. Indore recorded a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius on Friday night. Shahdol and Damoh registered 12.2 degrees Celsius, while Bhopal and Pachmarhi recorded 12.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather forecast cited in the report, minimum temperatures in Madhya Pradesh could fall by another 1 to 2 degrees Celsius over the next four days.

Rajasthan is also experiencing poor air quality. On Saturday morning, Bhiwadi in Khairthal-Tijara district recorded an AQI above 300. The report also mentioned fog in Alwar and cloudy conditions in Ajmer.

The contrasting weather conditions across the regions include rising pollution in northern cities and increasing winter chill in Madhya Pradesh.
