Pune: Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to a private hospital in Pune on Monday after complaining of chest pain and a cough. The 85-year-old leader reportedly experienced pain that worsened while breathing.

Pawar was taken to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune for medical evaluation. His daughter, Baramati MP and NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule, shared information about his hospitalisation.

According to Sule, medical tests are currently being conducted to assess his condition. She said that all his health parameters were stable.

Although his condition was reported to be stable, Pawar will remain in the hospital for further observation and medical assessment.

The veteran politician has previously battled cancer and is a cancer survivor. His hospitalisation has drawn attention due to his age and medical history.

Further details about the results of his medical tests and the duration of his hospital stay are awaited.
