In a message shared on social media platform X, Modi said Maharishi Valmiki’s teachings form an important part of India’s cultural traditions and continue to guide future generations. He also highlighted the enduring relevance of the sage’s message to humanity, saying his ideas remain a source of inspiration across different eras.

Maharishi Valmiki is revered as the Adi Kavi, or the first poet, and is traditionally credited with composing the Ramayana, one of India’s most significant ancient epics. The text narrates the life and ideals of Lord Shri Ram and has influenced Indian literature, religious traditions and cultural thought for generations.

The Ramayana places emphasis on values such as truth, duty, righteousness, compassion and devotion. These principles continue to shape the beliefs and practices of many people and remain central to discussions about ethical conduct and personal responsibility.

Maharishi Valmiki’s legacy extends beyond literature into India’s spiritual and philosophical traditions. His teachings and the work associated with him continue to hold significance for readers and devotees.

Through his message, the Prime Minister underscored the lasting importance of Valmiki’s ideals and their capacity to inspire people to uphold values that benefit society and humanity.
