Jhoota Murder Case: Mann Says All Valid Demands Met as Protest Continues

Bathinda: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that the government has fulfilled all legitimate demands raised by the family and action committee in the murder case of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhoota. The family and action committee, however, continued their protest in Mansa for the 14th consecutive day, remaining firm on their demand for the resignation of the Chief Minister and Punjab Director General of Police.

According to the report, Mann said the government had addressed the valid demands put forward by the family and the committee. The decision on when to conduct Jhoota’s last rites now rests with the family, as the protest continues.

The dispute has kept attention focused on the investigation and the demands being raised by those seeking accountability in the case. The family and the action committee have not withdrawn their demand for the resignations of the state’s top political and police officials.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reportedly conducted raids at warehouses linked to two medical stores as part of its investigative activity. The report did not provide further details about the locations of the warehouses, the material examined, or whether any evidence was seized.

The continuing protest reflects the unresolved differences between the government’s position that legitimate demands have been met and the committee’s insistence on further accountability. The family’s decision regarding the funeral remains a key development awaited in the case.
