The Health Department has revised the timings keeping patients’ convenience and changing weather conditions in mind. The new schedule will apply to government hospitals across the state, helping patients plan their visits according to the updated service hours.
Patients visiting government hospitals for medical consultations, routine examinations and follow-up appointments should take note of the revised timings before travelling to a healthcare facility. Those requiring OPD consultations are advised to reach hospitals during the new operating hours to avoid inconvenience.
Emergency services, however, will remain available 24 hours a day. Patients requiring urgent medical attention will therefore continue to have access to emergency care regardless of the revised OPD schedule.
The Civil Surgeon in Bathinda, Dr. Tapinderjot, was mentioned in the report regarding the change. The revised timings are being introduced as part of the Health Department’s arrangements for government healthcare facilities during the changing season.
The change is relevant to patients and their families who depend on public hospitals for affordable medical consultations and treatment. Residents should confirm any hospital-specific arrangements directly with the facility before visiting, particularly if they require a specialised consultation or a scheduled medical service.
The revised OPD schedule is set to take effect on October 16, 2026, while emergency services will continue operating round the clock.
