Dubai: Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Aman Arora held a series of meetings with leading UAE-based business leaders in Dubai, pitching Punjab as an attractive destination for global investment and exploring opportunities for sector-specific partnerships.
During his engagements, Arora highlighted the state’s Industrial & Business Development Policy-2026, along with its single-window clearance mechanism, and assured potential investors of time-bound approvals, responsive governance and dedicated handholding through Invest Punjab.
Among those he met were Sharaf Group President and CEO Shyam Kapur, Mount Meru Group President Energy Atul Mittal, Al Dobowi Group Chairman Surendra Singh Kandhari, Jacky’s representative Jacky Panjabi, Apparel Group Chairman Nilesh Ved, LuLu Retail Holdings PLC Group Director–Global Operations Salim M.A. and GEMS Education Founder and Chairman Sunny Varkey.
The meetings focused on identifying investment opportunities in areas including food processing, agro-based industries, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, education and skill development, information technology and renewable energy. Discussions also covered B2B partnerships and technology collaboration.
Earlier, Consul General of India in Dubai Dr. Emmadi Vishnu Vardhan Reddy hosted Arora for breakfast, where the two discussed promoting investment in Punjab, strengthening investor engagement and enhancing confidence among overseas businesses.
Arora also met India’s Ambassador to the UAE, Sh. Deepak Mittal, IFS, at AIM Dubai. The discussions focused on collaboration in skill development, agriculture and food processing. Arora said Punjab offered strategic connectivity, skilled manpower, a strong industrial base, entrepreneurial talent and access to a large domestic market. “Our objective is not just to bring in investment, but to forge long-term partnerships that generate employment, strengthen industry and accelerate Punjab’s economic growth,” he said.
The Punjab delegation, comprising CEO Invest Punjab Amit Dhaka, Director Industries and Commerce Jaspreet Singh and MD Punjab Financial Corporation Senu Duggal, is continuing its meetings with UAE and global investors to identify concrete investment proposals and facilitate partnerships.
